KGLP's General Manager, Rachel Kaub, interviews Jim Kristofic and Edison Eskeets, authors of the new book Send a Runner.
The book tells the story of a Navajo family that organized a ceremonial run from Canyon de Chelly to Santa Fe, NM in the summer of 2018. That summer was the 150th anniversary of the Navajos' return to their homeland after the Long Walk.
The family uses the power of running to honor their ancestors and the power of history to explain why the Long Walk happened. From these forces, they also seek the vision of how the Diné—their people—will have a future.
