Navajo Codetalker, linguist, and actor, Thomas H. Begay, with assistance from his eldest son, Ronald, spoke at the September 17, 2017 meeting of Gallup's Plateau Sciences Society, relating matters such as stories from his military service, his love of language, acting in "Legends From the Sky". Mr. Begay also appears on p.42 of the current issue of "Indian" the publication of the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI).
Mr. Begay, a 5th Marines Navajo Code Talker, wrote the foreword for the book, "Voices of Victory, and was a guest at Author Catherine Ritch’s home for several Veteran’s Day events in her home state of NC during November of 2015. He spoke and appeared at a number of 2016 Veteran’s Day events and presentations in Washington, D.C., and was publicly recognized in D.C. by President Barack Obama during Native American Month. At age 94, he still walked the 4-mile parade route of the 2017 Fiesta Bowl Parade, an event in which he appears annually.

Frank describes the early days of KGLP, his experiences with the people of the Gallup area, and how important that time was in his life.
