KGLP Station Manager Rachel Kaub speaks with Shane Youtz, general counsel for the New Mexico State Federation of Labor, discussing a proposal by McKinley County Commissioner Bill Lee to pass a so-called "Right to Work" ordinance that would effect corporations and workers doing business with the county.
The second reading of this proposal is to take place at the 9am County Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, 2018 on the 3rd floor of the McKinley County Courthouse in downtown Gallup, New Mexico.

Heinrich met with students and faculty at Gallup Middle College High School, launching Senator Heinrich’s Degrees Not Debt initiative to ensure higher education is accessible and affordable to all New Mexicans. Senator Heinrich recently helped secure an increase to the Pell Grant award and the ability for students to utilize them year round.

A community meeting in Gallup, New Mexico, on March 23, 2018 provided updates on the struggle by organizations, community members, and miners adversely affected by uranium mines in Northwestern New Mexico and Northeastern Arizona, including the Navajo Nation and other Native lands.
Speakers included Larry King of ENDAUM (Eastern Navajo Diné Against Uranium Mining) and Anna Rondon of New Mexico Social Justice and Equity Institute, as well as former miners and community members impacted by uranium mining.

This Saturday, March 10th, "Mountainfilm on Tour" will feature short films screening at 4:30 and then at 8:30 PM in El Morro Theatre, featuring inspiring, entertaining and adrenaline filled stories selected from their annual festival in Telluride, Colorado.
